"The Venceremos (“We shall Overcome”) Brigade"
"THEY are perhaps one of the largest groups of young people from the United States to visit Cuba this year. They are Chicano, Mexican, Puerto Rican, African-American, Asian, and white, many from working-class families."
What is it these idiots would like to overcome? Oppression? Censorship? Persecution of gay men and lesbians? Wretched poverty and corruption?
Apparently none of the above. They instead travel to Cuba to celebrate that island of misery, that throne of a dictator. In the waning days of the Soviet empire I traveled with students to the USSR. One of the students was eager to see the 'workers' paradise', having been indoctrinated by a Communist leaning father. She was the first to be revolted by the Soviet system. She traveled home prepared to kiss the tarmac at the airport, so happy was she to be back in the USA. How many of these Castro cheerleaders would agree to change places with any of the folk in Cuba who wish to leave? Take a wild guess.

DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2005
Borrowing from Drudge:
Time Magazine declares with an air of triumph that the Bush Doctrine is dead, preferring, I suppose the Gulliver among-the Lilliputs doctrine which binds the U.S. to the wishes of a multilateral world, much of wish is in direct opposition to U.S. will and interest.
